The Camden County Historical Society provides unique learning opportunities for children in schools throughout the county as well as the region. These services include:
GROUP TOURS AT OUR SITE
Group tours are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Programs are available for school groups beginning with the second grade. Programs are also available for special education students as well as those involved in home schooling.

Programs at the Society
POMONA HALL TOUR includes a complete tour of the 18th-century Cooper residence and our two-story museum. $3.00 per student; one chaperone per 10 students included, additional chaperones are $8.00 each.
OPEN HEARTH COOKING is demonstrated in the kitchen of Pomona Hall. Visitors see a colonial meal prepared and are invited to sample. This two-hour program includes a tour of Pomona Hall and the museum. $5.00 per student; one chaperone per 10 students included, additional chaperones are $8.00. For groups of 25 or less the fee is $3.00 per student plus $100.00 for open hearth cooking; one chaperone per 10 students included, additional chaperones are $8.00.

'SUITCASE' PROGRAMS AT YOUR SITE
COLONIAL LIFE IN CAMDEN COUNTY -- This one-hour presentation brings period costumes, artifacts, a video and hands-on activities into your classroom. $75.00 per class.
SLAVERY AND THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD IN CAMDEN COUNTY -- This one-hour presentation highlights the County's own slave trade as well as its role in helping slaves escape to freedom. Students will trace the route taken by slaves into our area and learn about the conductors who helped them. $75.00 per class.
URBAN GROWTH, DECLINE & REVITALIZATION: A STUDY OF THE CITY OF CAMDEN -- This one-hour presentation covers how Camden developed and grew through the Industrial Revolution and declined with suburban growth. $75.00 per class.
HANDS-ON TRAVELING TRUNK
Delivered to your school filled with everyday artifacts of yesteryear to be touched and handled. The trunk can be used as a "Show & Tell" self-contained unit or as a jumping-off point for more extensive study. $50.00 per week, $25.00 per week if used in conjunction with one of our Suitcase Programs.
